Welcome to the RRA!!

"To rein a horse is not only to guide him, but also to control his every movement. The best reind horse should be willingly guided or controlled with little or no apparent resistance and dictated to completely. Any movement on his own must be considered a lack of control. All deviations form the exact written pattern must be considered a lack of/or temporary loss oc control and there a fault that must be marked down in accordance. After deducting all faults, set here within, against execution of the patter and the horse's overall performance, credit should be given for smoothness, finesse, attitude, quickness and authority of performing various maneuvers, while using controlled speed which raises the difficulty level and makes him more exciting and pleasing to watch to an audience."

Welcome to the Riata Reining Association, also known as the RRA. We provide an active community for your reining horses, and strive to support and encourage the event in Riata.

Although the RRA was originally started as a test project, it is now a thriving association. Riata's strong Western community has made sure that is so.

We hold monthly events, as well as some specialized events such as the Futurity and the Derby.
Your horses compete in class sizes ranging from 3-5 to 20 or more, depending on who turned out that day.
They go head to head with the other horses in their class, batteling for those top placings.
Competition is tough, but the top three competitors from each under saddle class earn points, which will earn them year end titles and rewards.

Make sure you take a look around. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the RRA Admin , Rachel and Haylee. You can find means of getting a hold of us on the contact page.

Thanks for taking a minute to stop by the RRA!!!
